Starting life as a big inlet F-16C Block 30H, 87-0284 was upgraded to “C+” standard upon her later service with Colorado ANG’s 120 FS “Mile High Militia” stationed at Buckley Space Force Base. C+ updates brought early C model jets almost level with later Blocks with improved avionics, targeting pod capability, and an APX IFF interrogator.
284 is shown ready for an interdiction sortie two pairs of GBU-12’s slant loaded on TER’s on Stations 3/7 and a AN/AAQ-28 Lighting Pod on intake Station 5b. For self-protection, she carries a pair of AIM-120's on wing tip stations 1/9, and a pair of AIM-9M’s on underwing stations 2/8. A pair of 370 gallon drop tanks on the inboard wing stations complete her external configuration and, as always, she’s loaded with a full 20mm ammunition load for her M-61 cannon and chaff and flare expendables.
