Sea Harrier FA 2 801 Sqn Royal Navy RNAS Yeovilton Print

from $49.50

Images are reduced fidelity for copyright protection.

A development of the original Sea Harrier FRS.1, the FA.2 Shar served with the Royal Navy from 1988 though late March 2006 when the last jets from 801 Squadron were retired from service. The FA.2 featured the more powerful Mk 106 Pegasus engine, updated cockpit displays and a new ejection seat, and extensive avionics updates, but the most significant change was the addition of a radar guided missile capability courtesy of the AIM-120 AMRAAM and larger Blue Vixen radar. The redesigned nose to fit the radar was perhaps the easiest way to differentiate the FA.2 from its FRS.1 predecessor.

ZH613 is shown at her home station of RNAS Yeovlten ready for an air-to-air training sortie, configured with empty fuselage missile pylons and inner wing pylons and a single captive carry AIM-9L training missile.

Any Fighter Studios print can be customized with different squadron marking, different store configurations, names on the nose or canopy rail. To get yours started, click Personalized Print for more information or click Email with questions.
