Based at Misawa AB on the northern most tip of Honshu island, this Block 30 F-16C was part of the 432 Tactical Fighter Wing in the late 1980's and early 1990's. The Samurai’s provided Air Defense for Northern Japan and Close Air Support.

Tail number 560 is shown configured for an Air-to-Air training sortie with a ACMI pod on wingtip station 1 and a CATM-9 on station 2. Unseen on station 9 is the ubiquitous AMD and for all Air-to-Air overwater missions, a load of 60 chaff and 30 flares is typical.

The ACMI pod provides telemetry data that can be combined with data from other jets and replayed from any vantage point for unparalleled debriefings.
